Leia, Mara and Jaina giggled (almost mischieviously) as they guided Tahiri to Leia's make-up table. Tahiri, who was unused to being pampered, just smiled softly. Mara was the first to notice Tahiri's mood.
"Oh, honey, it's okay to be nervous! I know we all were at our weddings." She exclaimed. Jaina nodded her agreement.
"I almost chickened out," Jaina showed her ring finger to Tahiri. "Of course, I couldn't imagine not being married to Kyp now."
Leia smiled. "I was probably a bit nervous. But, I wanted my scoundrel more than anything." Han Solo walked up behind his wife and kissed her cheek.
"And you got him, no thanks to that Prince Isolder person." He grumbled. Leia slapped him playfully, then Tenel Ka, who had been observing the scene with amused pleasure, poked Han's arm.
"Are you insulting my father, father-in-law?" She teased. Han smiled sheepishly and said 'no'.
"Okay, Dad, shoo! We have to get Tahiri in her wedding dress." Jaina ushered her father from the room.
You can't do this. A voice spoke to Tahiri as she tightened the final lace of her dress.
Why shouldn't I? She retorted.
You don't really love him. The voice attempted to be persuasive.
You wanna bet? Tahiri tried to tune the voice out.
I bet the hair on my elbow you don't truly love Anakin Solo.
Ookay... nice try.
You don't love Anakin Solo...
Tahiri was now annoyed. Will you shut up!?
...You don't love Anakin Solo...
Cut it out!
You do not love Anakin Solo... The voice was now rising to the volume of a shout, yet staying sinisterly calm.
Yes, I do love him!
You don't truly love Anakin Solo. You are unworthy of his time. he does not love you. The mysterious voice almost convinced her. She caught herself dwelling on the thoughts and banished them from her mind.
"Anakin," she whispered. The voice grew louder. "Anakin!"
Anakin was tightening the annoying bow around his shirt collar when Jacen, Kyp, Han and Luke all practically flew into the dressing room.
"T-"
"-Ta-"
"-Tahi-"
"-Tahiri-"
"-What's happened!?" Anakin interupted their stammers.
"Anakin!" The groom heard Tahiri's frantic call through the now open door. He rushed hastily to his mother's room. She, Mara and Jaina were surrounded Tahiri, trying to calm her.
"Tahiri!" Anakin called. All the women looked up, accept his bride, who could not hear him.
"Anakin, it's bad luck to see your bride before the wedding!" Leia exclaimed.
"Anakin..." Tahiri groaned from her seat on the floor. Her eyes were sqeezed shut and her hands were covering her ears.
"Too late, I've seen her." Anakin rushed to his finac`e's side and gently removed her hand from her ears and stroked them tenderly. Tahiri opened her eyes, and upon seeing the concern etched in her groom's ice blue eyes, began to speak hurriedly.
"Anakin, help me please! he won't leave me alone!" She exclaimed, a bit too loudly.
"Who? Who won't leave you alone?" He caressed her cheek with one of his hands. She looked puzzled.
"I-I can't hear you," Stop!
Anakin Solo does not love you.
"Yes, he does! He does love me!" Tahiri exclaimed, forgetting to think it. Anakin realized partially what was going on.
I love you, Tahiri. He sent her.
You do not love Tahiri Veila. Anakin's eyebrows pressed together as he heard the mysterious voice... it sounded familiar.
"Stop! Get out of my mind!" His bride was exclaiming. Anakin cupped her face with both of his hands and fixed his gaze onto Tahiri's tear filled eyes.
"I love you, Tahiri Veila!" The voice stopped abruptly.
"Anakin?" Tahiri finally whispered. "You d-do love me, don't you?" Her voice quavered. he gathered her into his arms and held her.
"How could you ever doubt? Of course I do. I always have," Anakin wiped her tears away gently. "-I always will."
"Well, that was weird." Jaina stated.
"Do you two still want to get married today?" Kyp asked calmly. Anakin looked down at his fianc`e, she nodded.
The doors opened and took her adotive father's arm. She sensed that, beneath his mask, Sliven was smiling proudly. As she approached the altar, the sinister voice began to once again torment her.
You are unworthy of Anakin's love.
And yet, he loves me. She responded. Tahiri resolved not to let the voice trick her once more.
He does not love you.
Think again. Sliven dropped her arm and Tahiri traveled up the steps until she came to a stop beside Anakin and in front of Luke.
YOU ARE UNWORTHY! This time, Anakin and Luke seemed to hear the voice through the Force as well. Tahiri's lover took her hand and squeezed it gently.
Remember what I said, Angel. He reminded her. Quite suddenly, the voice grew extremely loud. Tahiri's head began to pound from the volume. She grunted and touched a gloved hand to her aching head. Her headache began to grow rapidly, until her whole body was paralyzed. She closed her and fell limply forward into Anakin's arms.
"Tahiri!"

Anakin stroked his unconscious fiancé’s hand continuously, willing her to wake up. She sometimes stirred, making Cighal believe that she was only in a deep sleep.
"Anakin?" He didn't hear. Anakin couldn't revert his gaze form his bride's beautiful face. He reached out and touched Tahiri's cheek. Please wake up, Angel.
Leia walked up behind her son and rubbed his back. "Hey," she said softly. "Are you going to be OK?"
"If she is," he replied, his gaze not wavering from Tahiri's features.
"I'm sure she'll be fine," his mother assured him.
"I'm going to find out who that mysterious voice was, why he did this to Tahiri, and then kill him," Anakin stated, making his declaration sound more like a promise.
"You sound so certain, but what if this guy doesn't exist?"
"He does exist, but soon he won't," Anakin closed the debate. Suddenly, Tahiri yelped and opened her eyes. He sighed. "Tahiri," Anakin reached out and caressed her cheek in relief. "Are you alright?"
"I-I can't see..." She murmured. Anakin looked to Cighal in alarm. She gave him a calming glance.
"Do not worry, Tahiri. The blindness is only temporary,” Cighal assured. “I’ve come across this before. Apparently, these happenings are side effects of a drug called anya. Two people take a dose of this, and they can hear each other’s thoughts for about an hour. The consequences are, if one takes too much of a dose, ending up like Tahiri here. My guess is the person who did this was an unprofessional admirer of Tahiri’s who wanted to stop the wedding, or someone who wants Tahiri dead.”
“The whole Yuuzhan Vong population, the Dark Side, a couple billion Twi’leks … the list is endless,” Tahiri groaned. Anakin stroked her cheek. Leia and Cighal exchanged amused glances and left the room with a wink in Anakin’s direction. “I thought I heard a door close, did Cighal and your mom leave?” The desperation in her voice brought tears to Anakin’s eyes.
“Yes, they left,” he replied. He felt Tahiri reach out with the Force to locate him, then she reached up and cupped Anakin’s cheek with her right hand. He kissed her palm and held his left hand over hers, tracing his fingers over hers. “I love you so much, Angel.” He whispered fervently.
“But I’m blind…”
“I thought there was a chance of you dying. You think temporary blindness even daunts my love for you?” Anakin whispered. He bent and kissed both of Tahiri’s eyelids. She traced her fingers gently over his cheek, nose, eyelids and lips.
“I’m such a fool, Ani,” she whispered hoarsely. He shook his head.
“Why would you ever have a reason to feel foolish?”
“I … I doubt your love … still. I mean, you’ve shown me how much you love me, and I know I love you deeply … but my mind keeps doubting enough to sometimes trick me into believing my heart is wary,” Tears trickled down Tahiri’s cheeks. She opened her eyes and looked to where the Force told her Anakin’s eyes were. “And I can’t see your reaction to that, but right now, I want to tell you the truth. Being deprived of the ability to love you fully is killing me. I need to be reassured of your love.” Anakin drew her into his arms.
“I’ve promised to always be there for you, Tahiri, When you fall, I’ll be there to help you up. When you need someone to lean on, I will be there to accommodate you,” He lowered his voice to a whisper and placed his lips next to Tahiri’s ear. “And when you need to know the amount of my love, I will always be there to assure you of its abundance.” Anakin pressed his lips to Tahiri’s in a passionate, pure kiss.
“You think they’re still gonna get married today?” Jaina asked her husband loudly. Kyp laughed and kissed his goddess.
“You couldn’t keep us away from the altar,” Tahiri stated. Anakin grinned the infamous Solo-grin and hoisted Tahiri into his arms, swinging her around.
