And here we go!
~*~*~*~
"What happened to Anakin and Tahiri while I was gone? One minute they're best friends, the next, they're holding hands! I can sense the spark between them without the Force," Jacen Solo remarked.
Jaina Solo, his twin, rolled her eyes. "They finally got together. I was beginning to wonder."
"About what?"
"You need serious help."
"I don't care what everyone thinks, Tahiri. We're the only two that really know what happened the other night," Anakin stated. His girlfriend frowned.
"A rumor has spread that something happened..."
"Kissing? Just on the cheek-"
"-No, somehthing serious. Someone has been spreading really bad lies about me and managing to make you look good. I traced the rumors to a Twi'lek whose name is Alema Rar. Do you know her?"
Anakin rolled his eyes. "Unfortunately. She was at one of those strange fmaily reunions. She's had a crush on me ever since I politely said 'hi'."
"Oh, one of the reunions I didn't go to."
"I'd have much rather been with you, Angel," Anakin kissed her nose. She smiled and ruffled his hair. It still surprised her that Anakin had such strong feelings for her. She had grown accoustomed to being his best friend over the years, and hadn't wanted that to change. Tahiri didn't want to die on Tatooine and hurt Anakin. She would do anything to avoid Tatooine's battle. That's why she had refused to let Anakin give her something more than a kiss on the cheek. But even still ... no matter how much she wished she wasn't, Tahiri was falling for Anakin Solo.
Anakin furrowed his brow. "You wish what?"
"What?"
"You said 'I wish'. You wish what?"
"I wish I didn't have to go to Tatooine and leave you behind."
Anakin smiled and rubbed a finger up and down Tahiri's arm. He grinned at the goosebumps that appeared on her skin. Anakin bent over and kissed the nape of his girlfriend's neck. "I love you, Tahiri." He whispered.
She smiled fondly at him. "Thank you for honoring my requests on our relationship. It's very sweet of you," She kissed his cheek. "Let's go get some lunch."
"Agreed. Then we can go to the docking bay for the Lore Seeker and wait for Tionne and Ikrit."
"They should be here by now, Ani,"
"Patience,"
"Sorry..."
"No problem, Angel. I think that's them over there," Anakin pointed towards the silver-haired Jedi and what appeared to be a white, fluffy, over-grown rabbit. He slipped an arm around his girlfriend's shoulders and they boarded the Lore Seeker.
"Let's play Truth or Dare," Tahiri suggested.
"Fine, me first. Truth or Dare?"
"Since the only things you could dare me to do are pull Tionne's hair, jump into deep space, and dye Ikrit red, I'll say 'Truth'."
Anakin laughed. "If you could change one thing in the past, present, or future, what would it be?"
"I'd change going to Tatooine," she answered without thinking. "Truth or Dare?"
"Truth,"
"If the one you love dies, would you ever love again?" she asked.
Anakin shook his head. "I would die with her," Tahiri began to blink rapidly. "Truth or Dare?"
"Truth," she whispered brokenly. He sat up and tilted her chin towards him.
"If the one I love plans on getting into danger or dying, would she tell me why or how?" He asked. She threw herself into his arms and buried her face in his shoulder. He kissed her hair tenderly.
"Yes," Tahiri's reply was muffled. "Truth or Dare?"
"Truth,"
"Would you die for the one you love?"
Anakin pulled back and looked into his girlfriend's eyes. "Without hesitation." Tears trickled down her cheeks.
"What if she didn't want you to? What if, in dying for her, you took away her will to live? What if you caused the thought of you to become so painful that it sucked the life out of her and she dies of a broken heart?"
"Are those your fears, Angel?" Anakin asked gently, wiping away her tears. She nodded. "Forget them, okay? Everything will turn out alright in the end. Truth or Dare?"
"Truth,"
"Do you love me?"
"Yes. That is why I'm so worried for us, Ani," she whispered. "Truth or Dare?"
"Uhhh...Dare,"
She raised her eyebrows. "Kiss me."
"W-what about my promise to you?"
"It's just a little kiss ... I need it," she looked into his eyes. Tahiri could see he wanted to, so she made the first move. Anakin closed the rest of the distance and they closed their eyes...

... When their lips met, the electric shock seemed to run through Tahiri's body again, this time she embraced it. Anakin moved closer and wrapped his arms around her waist. The feeling of deep affection returned. Tahiri felt the invisible hairs on Anakin's back prickle up, along with surprised goosebumps when Tahiri moved into his lap and wrapped her arms around his shoulders. After a few seconds, he placed a hand tenderly on the nape of her neck and pulled her gently closer. A few seconds more, he heard Tahiri gasp and realized she was running out of air. He broke the kiss reluctantly and Tahiri sighed. "Thank you, Anakin, for loving me when I totally don't deserve it."
"I couldn't not love you even if I wanted to. You are everything to me, you hold up my universe," he replied ferverently. She placed her head on Anakin's shoulder and time seemed to stop. The only thing that brought them back to reality was the announcement that they were about to land at Vader's Fortress.
The doned their rain gear and holstered their lightsabers securely. When they exited the vehicle, Tionne and Ikirit were waiting for them. Tionne gave them a strange look. "Should I have left you two alone?" Anakin blushed, was it that obvious?
Tahiri laughed. "You can decide that for yourself in due time. Right now, we're ready to explore!"
Ikirit motioned to what looked like a mountain of stairs. "We must climb those to reach our goal." he said.
"Oh, fun!" Tahiri muttered sarcastically.
"Oww! Oww! Oww! Oww! Owww...."
"Tahiri, I really think you should wear your boots," Tionne remarked. The teenager rolled her eyes.
"As much as I want to argue with that statement, you're right," She slipped on the pink, fuzzy boots. "Ahhh... much better," Everyone sighed. "Owww... Owww.... Owwww...."
"What now?"
"MY KRIFFIN' LEGS!" Anakin and Tahiri both exclaimed in unison.
"We feel like we're climbing for no point!" Tahiri exclaimed. Ikrit smiled.
"Do not worry, we are almost there."
"REALLY!?"
Ikrit chuckled. "We are almost to the halfway mark."
"Keep it up, and I'll turn you into a plush toy," Anakin threatened playfully.
"You would have to surpass my skills, padawan, before achieving that goal," Ikrit retorted.
"Don't make me come back there, you two," Tionne stated.
"He started it," Anakin and Tahiri pointed to Ikrit. Ikrit batted their hands away teasingly. They grabbed his paw and bagen to give him a noogie.
"I don't care who started it. I will finish it!" Everyone immediately calmed down and concentrated on climbing the stairs.
"Owww.... Oww... Owww..."
"THE TOP!" Tahiri exclaimed. "What a relief!" She sat/plopped down on a step. Ikrit sighed.
"Now we go on," he stated.
""WHAT!? No break?! What kind of rabbit are you?" Tahiri pouted. Ikrit looked like he wanted to argue his species with her, but then decided against it. She stood up, mis-judging where the previous step was. Tahiri began to fall down the steep staircase. "Woah!" Anakin caught her arm and pulled her towards him. She ended up on his chest, just like the dream. Anakin smiled and squeezed her palm. She gave him a fond look and began to enter the fortress, his hand in hers.
-1 Week Later-
"Ah! Help, someone, quick!"
Anakin rushed into the room at Tahiri's cry. Creatures were surrounding his girlfriend and Ikrit. They looked like humanoids crossed with canines and lizards. Tahiri's lightsaber was ignited and piercing one of the creatures, yet it didn't die. It was a hologram. Anakin un-sheated his blaster and shot the holoprojector. Immediately, the holograms disappeared, taking the floor with it. At the bottom of the revealed pit were long, sharp spears. He had barely avoided being killed. Tahiri force-leapt over the pit and into his arms. "I'm so glad you're safe." He whispered. She smiled and kissed him on the cheek quickly.
"Me, too. Let's get out of here!"
Anakin Solo awoke from his dream slowly. He opened his eyes. "I just had a dream about what happened at Vader's Fortress? Hmmm ... better tell Tahiri," He sat up and gaped, There was sunlight coming through the window, meaning they had landed on Tatooine. He walked to Tahiri's room, afraid she wasn't there. "Tahiri?" he hissed inot the door. "Are you there?"
"Unfortunately," she opened the door and pulled him into the room. "I can't do this, Anakin." Tahiri whispered. Anakin wrapped his arms around her waist and looked into her eyes.
"Why do you say that?"
"'Cause! Ani, I'm going to die out there, I know I will!" she exclaimed. He tucked a strand of her hair gently behind her ear.
"I won't let you die, Tahiri. I promise. And remember, all you have to do to defeat the dragon is-"
"-Anakin! Dont' you get it? If I'm put into the arena weaponless, the dragon will kill me in two seconds," A roar sounded from outside the ship, eerie and sinister. It was a sound all too familiar to Tahiri. "It's here," she whispered. "The Krayt Dragon."

Anakin looked into her eyes. "You really do fear this battle."
"And you figured this out just now?" She clinged tightly to him. "Please tell me I don't have to do this. Tell me I can come home with you and leave all this madness behind."
"Do you want to abandon your family in order to come home with me?"
"Anakin! You make everything so ... complex! Coouldn't you have said something neutral like 'Of course', or somthin'?"
Anakin smiled. "I love you, Angel. If you want to come home with me, by all means, do so."
A Tusken Raider entered the room and grunted something in its own language. "I'm still making my decision," The Raider grunted something that sounded like a question. "I promised you that when I was nine. I've changed my mind."
"About what?" The Tusken asked slowly in Basic.
"I've decided I'm not going to fight the Krayt Dragon," she replied. "There's something I have to do first," The Tusken replied in his own language harshly. "No, Sliven. I am a Jedi Knight, not a Tusken Raider. My fate should lie with duty, not with suicide."
The Tusken started forward and grabbed her arm. "I am your father! Your duty lies with me!"
"Tell me, father, would a responsible parent force his daughter to commit suicide?" Tahiri asked calmly. "I don't care about Tusken honor, I don't care about family duties, and I certainly don't care about the promises you make. Because FRANKLY, they never turn out so swell. I'm going home to Yavin 4 with Anakin, and you can't stop me."
"How touching. Save it for someone who cares," Sliven grabbed her arm and began to laborously drag her outside.
"Wait!" Anakin exclaimed. "You didn't even give us time to say good-bye."
"I will give you two minutes," Sliven determined. "When I return, Tahiri fights the Dragon."
When Sliven left, Anakin took Tahiri up in his strong arms. "I can't do this, Anakin," she sobbed. "I know we always made fun of those skimpy heroines in those holovids, but now that I'm in their place, I feel exactly the way they acted; stupid and in the way. I don't want to leave you ... I don't want to die."
"No one wants to die, Angel," Anakin chuckled, then turned serious. "Remember how we killed that overgrown snake when we were protecting Lyric?" She nodded. "That's how you can kill the Dragon."
"But, I don't know how! That was always you doing the Force-choking, I was always standing by with pom-poms, cheering you on."
"Just trust the Force, Angel, and you will succeed," He encouraged. Tahiri bit her lip. "C'mere," Anakin pulled her towards him and kissed her quickly, yet tenderly. "I have no doubt that you'll come through this alive," he stroked her cheek with his hand, she closed her eyes. Anakin pressed his lips to her forehead lingeringly. Tahiri sighed and buried her face in the area between Anakin's neck and shoulder. Sliven entered again with a 'gaffer' stick. Upon seeing them, he grunted softly. "What did he say?"
Tahiri blushed. "He said, 'Young love'."
Anakin turned to Sliven. "Please, sir, if you truly love your daughter, let her come home with me. I promise to treat her with respect. I love her."
"If you truly love my daughter, you will stay out of this affair," he motioned to the outside. "The Dragon awaits, my child."
She was running, so hard and so fast that she suspected her legs would fly off. She heard the dragon's wings flapping and felt the breeze of the air being pushed towards her, which meant only one thing: the Krayt Dragon was charging.
Tahiri saw Anakin nearby, watching anxiously, waiting for her to request his presence. 'I can handle this,' she mouthed. 'Trust me.' He nodded. She reached out with the Force and sensed the Dragon beginning its charge. Tahiri spotted a ledge ahead and calculated that if she ran slightly faster, she could trick the Dragon into flying off the cliff, which would mean victory. She ran as fast as she dared and reached the edge of the cliff, grabbed the edge and hung on for dear life. The Krayt Dragon let out a surprised roar and fell off the cliff, to clumsy to try to expand its wings. Tahiri lifted herself up onto the ledge and immediately, Anakin was by her side. He lifted her into his arms and held her. "I did it," she whispered.
"Of course you did, Angel. You're the most amazing person I know. I had no doubt that you could defeat the Krayt Dragon," He stated encouragingly. She leaned back in his arms, her legs suddenly felt like jelly.
"Let's go home."

Tahiri was standing on a balcony overlooking a beautiful lake. Her environment consisted of flowers of every color, and cloudy skies. The sun was peeping through the midst, displaying the blue sky. A cool breeze came up and blew Tahiri’s hair and veil around her face. Waaaaait … veil? she thought. She felt her hand being grasped by a familiar man. Tahiri looked over at him, Anakin was gazing at her fondly. Yet, there was something different about his stare, it was more fond, more emotional, more loving. It was the kind of gaze that would make her stomach flutter if she received just two seconds of it. But Anakin was not wavering his gaze, his eyes remained fixed on hers. She heard a random voice say,
“I now pronounce this couple husband and wife. You may kiss the bride,” Anakin reached out and caressed her cheek with his right hand, drawing her close to him. They closed their eyes and shared a passionate kiss. Tahiri felt as if a million thoughts and feelings were stampeding around in her mind. She was at her wedding.
“Hey, Tahiri!” Anakin called. “Are you okay?” Tahiri kept walking. He grasped her elbow and wheeled her around. “Why are you avoiding me?”
She began to tremble. “No reason, r-really. Just, uh, a dream.”
“Was it a bad dream?”
”Uh … I dunno …. N-not really. It just, it scares me,” Tahiri stuttered.
“Well, are you going to tell me about it?” He asked gently.
“Not here in the hallway, Ani,” She pulled away. “I have to go,” she began to run off, but Anakin held onto her and pressed his lips to hers lingeringly. Tahiri gasped and pulled away. “You promised!” She began to cry and pulled herself away roughly, this time Anakin let her go.
You were the one that I couldn’t find. Hidden away, in the depths of my mind. Why did I let you go? You’re too good to be true. I messed it up and now I don’t know what to do. We ran in circles and wasted time. From right to wrong, from right to wrong. If I knew that you were mine, I wouldn’t have wasted time. I wish I could erase the past, but not it’s all collapsed in my lap. I over thought, so I locked up my heart. There you stood, you’re green eyes hidden beneath your hood. Why did I let you go? You’re too good to be true. Wish I could erase the past, Wish I could bring you back. Now it’s all collapsed in my lap.
Tahiri played with her hair sorrowfully. Anakin walked up slowly behind her. “Hey,” he stated softly. She jumped up, startled. Anakin held up his hands and smiled apologetically. “I’m sorry I startled you, Angel.”
Tahiri frowned and turned to run off, but Anakin caught her arm. “I’m sorry!” He exclaimed. “I’m sorry for everything. For violating your wishes, for taking another step, for causing you hurt. But, Angel, I can’t live without you. I had hoped…”
“What?”
He took her hand. “I’d hoped you felt the same way.” She softened.
“I did …. Do. Anakin, the way I acted a few moments ago had nothing to do with you. Ani, I’m in love with you, sometimes that scares me,” Tahiri cupped his cheek with her hand tenderly. He kissed her palm.
“Tahiri, I hafta ask you something…” Their comlinks interrupted Anakin.
“All Jedi Masters, Knights, Padawans, Students, and Learners, please report to the briefing room for an emergency mission count,” Luke Skywalker’s wife, Mara Jade Skywalker, stated calmly over the comlink.
Anakin sighed and took Tahiri’s hand as the message repeated. “It’ll have to wait. What a birthday present.” He grumbled.
Tahiri laughed. “You remembered my birthday?”
“How could I not? Today, you’re 15, tomorrow, I’ll be 17. Plus, I bought you a present.”
“You did?”
“Yup. It’s in your room. I’ll walk you there after the briefing.”
“May the briefing begin,”
[hl=blue]Mission:[/hl] Myrkr [hl=skyblue]Mission Team:[/hl] Alema Rar, Jacen Solo, Jaina Solo, Lowbacca, Raynar Thul, Sabyne Sabatyne, Tahiri Veila, Tesar Sabatyne, Zekk, and other volunteers. [hl=blue]Mission Leader:[/hl] Anakin Solo [hl=skyblue]Objective:[/hl] Destroy the voxyn queen and cloning facility located on Myrkr.
“Okay, if your name was listed, please stand up, and a datafile with all the information you will need to know will be passed to you. Anakin Solo, please follow me, we have a lot of planning to do. Everyone else may retire for lunch.”
Anakin’s mouth fell open. “B-but, I-I have something important to do-“
“-go, Anakin. I’ll see you at dinner,” Tahiri said softly.
“Oh, no you won’t, Veila. Anakin will be very busy all today, tomorrow, and the next day, and the next week. The safety of the mission depends on it. Now, come, Anakin.”
“S-sorry, Tahiri,” Anakin frowned and followed the stingy Jedi Master.
Tahiri walked into her room and gasped. A fluffy, energetic puppy was sitting on her bed, obviously fighting the urge to pee on the bed sheet from sheer excitement at seeing another life form. Tahiri smiled broadly and opened the note next to the puppy while laughing at the puppy’s wet nose against her cheek.
Dear Angel, Warning: this puppy will need to pee urgently when you get around to opening your door. Happy Birthday! I couldn’t imagine anyone else I’d rather be with ever. I love you.
Your Proud Boyfriend,
Anakin Solo
She closed her eyes and shed a tear of joy. Tahiri couldn’t have asked for a more sweet, tender, loving individual to be with. She thanked the invisible Force guiding her fate that it had brought Anakin into her life.
Her doorbell rang, and she answered. There was no one there, but on the ground laid a dozen roses, freshly picked from her hideaway. She opened the card, it read:
I’m sorry. Love you, Anakin.
Tahiri sighed. “I love you, too, Anakin.”

Around midnight on the day after Anakin’s birthday, Tahiri’s buzzer rang. She woke up slowly and looked around. Had she heard something? Her buzzer rang once more. Tahiri staggered to her door and opened it. She was so tired, she couldn’t even open her eyes. “Yes?”
Suddenly, she felt his lips against hers. Tahiri smiled and shut the door through the Force. Anakin broke the kiss to apologize. “I’m so sorry, Tahiri,” he stated, then pressed his lips to hers again.
“It’s okay,” Tahiri paused to reassure him. “I understand,” She kissed him again quickly, then released herself from his grasp. “You look terrible.”
He smiled and pressed his forehead to hers. “You look wonderful.” She blushed.
“You need your sleep, Ani. I’ll see you tomorrow, but really, staying awake any longer is unhealthy.”
“I’d rather sleep in here with you…” he murmured. “WHOA … that didn’t come out … right. Could you stop spinning … me around?” Anakin swooned and closed his eyes.
“Oh Force, Anakin?!” Tahiri exclaimed. He fell forward into her arms, unconscious … She carried/dragged him to her bed and tucked him in. “Get some sleep.” She whispered. She pulled up a chair beside the bed, and sleep soon claimed her. Tahiri set her head on Anakin’s chest and fell asleep, still in the seat beside the bed
Anakin woke to find his chest occupied by a particular gorgeous blonde’s head. He slipped a hand tenderly behind Tahiri’s neck and massaged her shoulders gently with his left hand. She groaned. “Ugh … my back,” Tahiri lifted her head up, but her neck cracked, so her head sank heavily back down onto Anakin’s chest. Her forehead came in contact with one of his ribs. “That was NOT my pillow.” She moaned.
“No, it was my ribs!” He gasped. Tahiri ‘woke up’ immediately.
“Anakin! Are you alright? I mean about last night. You fell unconscious … I – I was so worried. Did you get enough sleep?”
“Yes. I know. I’m sorry I worried you. I could use a few more hours-“ Scruffy, as Tahiri’s puppy had come to be called, hopped up onto the bed and began to lick Anakin’s cheek excitedly. “H-hey! Down boy! What did you name him?”
“I named him ‘Scruffy’,” she took Anakin’s hand. “Thank you.” As they talked, Tahiri had been absentmindedly rubbing Anakin’s now sore ribs. She took her hand away and brushed back her hair.
He closed his eyes and shifted. “Don’t stop…” She looked at him quizzically. “Your touch is soothing.”
“I’ll stay with you until you fall asleep,” she stated. Scruffy yelped (he wasn’t yet old enough to bark) and wagged his tail. Tahiri laughed. “So will Scruffy.”
“But I have so much work to do…”
“We’ll be right here. Don’t worry, I’ll cover for you. Now get some sleep!” Tahiri insisted stubbornly.
“Where will you sleep?”
“On the floor.”
“That’s where the dog’s s’posed to sleep,” Anakin glanced at the white puppy sleeping at his side. “You can sleep in my bed, just set the alarm for two more hours, then wake me up.”
“I could set it in here,”
“I’d rather you wake me up than that obnoxious alarm,” Anakin smiled. “It puts me in a better mood.” Tahiri laughed and kissed his cheek tenderly.
“Good night, my Dummy. Love you.”
“ ’Night, Angel. Love you, too.”
“Anakin…” Tahiri shook him. “Ani, you have to wake up eventually,” He rolled over mumbling. She smacked her forehead. “This guy doesn’t need to be awakened, he needs to be resurrected!” She leaned over him. “I love you, Dummy.”
“I love you, Angel,” his response was muffled, and he didn’t wake. It must have been a reflex.
“Are you ever going to wake up?”
“No…” He answered. He was now only 75% asleep. Tahiri rolled her eyes and kissed him on the lips. Anakin’s eyes immediately flew open. Tahiri had intended for the kiss to be short, but it turned out to be quite lingering. Anakin closed his eyes, slipped a hand gingerly behind her neck and moved his lips. Tahiri laid lightly on his chest, the lower half of her body still seated on the side of the bed. She sighed into his lips. He wrapped his arms around her waist and twirled her over himself, onto the bed softly. Anakin broke the kiss to nuzzle her neck, and then kissed it.
“Anakin…”
“I wouldn’t do that to you, Angel. I promise. I’m just enoying being near you for these last few minutes before I am swept off by my duties,” He assured her. Tahiri smiled her thanks.
“Ani, … do you think that Myrkr is … the last part of the dream?”
“Possibly.”
“Well, don’t do it,” Tahiri stated firmly. “Don’t you dare die for me.”

Anakin's duties before the mission kept him so horribly busy that Tahiri was tempted to kidnap him. She missed him more than she could've ever imagined. It was like seeing a holo of him everyday. She could only catch his glance when they passed in the hallway. But the gaze they shared made waiting all worthwhile.
Tahiri walked absentmindedly into the cafeteria. It was empty, save for the droids who were wiping off the dirty tables. The holonews, however, was on.
"... In other news, Jedi Knight, Anakin Solo, was found unconcious(sp?) yesterday. The youth apparently passed out from lack of sleep. He is on the brink of non-existance..."
Tahiri gasped and raced out of the caf'e. It's not true! She wanted to believe. It's a lie. Without realizing it, Tahiri had run into the sick bay. "Where's Anakin?" She called. Cighal the Jedi Calamarian Healer turned around slowly.
"He was moved to urgent care about three hours ago," she stated sadly. "Jedi Master Kent should not have given him such laborous tasks. He should not have been pressured with so much responsibility."
"But can I see him?"
Cighal shook her head. "I'm afraid it's just not possible to talk to him right now."
Tahiri smiled. "I don't need to talk to him, only to see him." Cighal's lips rose slightly.
"Perhaps I can arrange that," she said softly.
"Ooph!" Tahiri squeezed up the A/C shaft. "The air shaft. Great idea, Cighal. Now, I'm stuck!" She attempted to squeeze a little farther. "Oh, great, I really am stuck. Hmmm, what's this? A vent leading down to a room..."
-----
Tahiri sat on an overlook slightly raised above the medical center. Well, this worked in class... She focused on Anakin. I'm here, Dummy. He shifted.
Tahiri? What happened? He sent her.
You fell unconcious.
I can't do it, Tahiri.
You can't do what?
I can't lead the Myrkr mission. It's too much.
Just get through this, and I'll help you get through that.
What?
You're dying ... and you promised me you wouldn't.
Anakin opened his eyes and looked straight at her. I won't die here, I promise you.
It was almost like a visit to the past.
"Where is Tahiri now?"
"She's in her 'secret hideout'. Behind the rose bushes in the daisy field."
It was almost like a dream, yet it wasn't. Tahiri was sitting on her favorite bench in her secret arbor, plucking at a daisy's petals. He limped noiselessly to her side. "He loves you," Anakin teased, sitting down next to his blonde girlfriend. Her face lit up at his voice and she hugged him.
"Oh, I'm so glad you're alright!" She kissed his cheek. He slipped an arm around her waist and gazed at her fondly.
"I missed you," he said. "All this separation from you is killing me." She leaned against him.
"Wounding you, ya mean," she laughed, then lowered her voice to a whisper. "I missed you, too." There was a moment of silence, but it was not uncomfortable. The couple was satisfied being back in eachother's presence. Anakin surveyed Tahiri. Even at fifteen, Tahiri looked like a grown woman. Her pale blonde hair fell in ringlets around her attractive face, her deep emerald eyes sparkled with delight. Her healthy, pink lips were parted in a wide smile, displaying her radiant white teeth. Anakin, on the other hand, looked quite rugged and rumpled. His dark brown hair fell into his ice blue eyes from time to time, and signs of weariness were still evident. There were circles under his eyes, but they were not as deep and dark as before. Tahiri still thought he looked breathtakingly handsome.
He touched her nose with his, momentarily speachless, as his love for her attempted to find words. Words that he meant with every ounce of his being. He hadn't even known he was going to say them until he heard them exit his mouth. "Will you marry me?"
Perhaps it was the Force, perhaps it was magic. But most likely, it was her deep love for Anakin that convinced her to be brave enough to say, "Yes, I will."
