Okay, so I have no life and I was flipping through some fanfic and I noticed that Alema and Tahiri seemed to be doomed to be paired with the same guys.
...no, really.
01. Anakin Solo. Although the ship is obviously A/T, Alema liked him too. 02. Zekk. Zekk/Alema is a very popular ship, but Zekk/Tahiri is becoming more common everyday. 03. Raynar Thul. This isn't really that common, but it's been seen in a few fanfics. Alema kissed him in The Unseen Queen, and Raynar/Tahiri is used if all the rest of the characters she could be paired with are taken. 04. Jagged Fel. Jag/Alema is a bit of a crack!ship that shows up in fanfic. It's not that popular, but it's there. As for Jag/Tahiri...that's very common, and I don't think it needs an explanation. 05. Jacen Solo. Jacen/Alema is not a serious ship, but it's been done before. As for Jacen/Tahiri, that's also very popular as well, due to the whole 'Kiss Tahiri for me' thing that Anakin says.
SO. As shown, I have no life. But as a rabid Alema fan, and a Tahiri fan as well (yes, it's true -- I like them both!), I thought it was interesting. What I really know is, when going through the list, who you prefer each of them with.
01. Anakin/Tahiri. No, really. I really love Alemakin, and there are times when I infinitely prefer it over A/T. But when it all comes down to it, I love A/T. Really, I do. 02. Zekk/Alema. I think they have more in common than Zekk and Tahiri do. 03. I...don't know. 04. Jag/Tahiri. I can't see Jag being very happy with Alema. They're just too different. 05. Jacen/Tenel Ka Jacen/Tahiri. Alema is very like Anakin, only definitely more extreme. Jacen and Anakin never got along very well, so he and Tahiri definitely would work better.
...well?

Even though they have a lot in common and can relate i see Jacen as more of an older brother to Tahiri. Those two I just can't support, besides Tahiri loved Anakin,I think going out with Jacen would stabb Anakin(or at least what's left of him;STUPID DEL REY!!!) in the back.

I'm definitely not a fan of Jacen/Tahiri, but if it's between Tahiri or Alema, I can see Jacen doing better with Tahiri. I mean, look at all the fights Jacen and Anakin got into, and like I said, Alema's a lot like Anakin, only more extreme.
But I definitely agree on the big-brother thing.

*eyeroll*
This is pairings...not another Alema vs. Tahiri fight. (Well, in a way it is, I guess, but seriously.)
Mr. Lucien Blank, Tahiri Veila is not the only (or the most interesting -_-) character in the EU.
As much as she is loved and appreciated.

Mr. Lucien Blank. It has a nice ring...infact I should change my name to Mr. Lucien Blank. As to what you where saying Miss Emlayy It is to some extent Alema vs. Tahiri fight is it not? Oh! I should charge admision! Go tahiri go tahiri! As to tahiri not being the most interesting character..well i beg to differ. Also just to answer the thread, Although I hate anikain I do belive that ani/ tahiri in some odd way make the best couple and I have to pick them.
...and getting caught in the rain...
keep it up and lets finish the song!!!!

To some extent it is, however, it's a list of the guys they've both been paired with and who might go best with who. Not really a fight over the two of them. Though, let's face it, Alema could totally beat Tahiri up.
...and no, she is not the most interesting. In all honesty, after reading some more of the EU, I found Tahiri to be washed-out and boring. I prefer characters such as Alema, the pilots (PILOTS! WOO~), Lomi Plo, Zekk (ZEKK! *GLOMP*) et cetera. Characters with less backstory and more backbone development have become my favorites, because of their ability to change and not be another woe-is-me-for-I-was-shaped-by-the-Yuuzhan-Vong-and-my-boyfriend-died-and-after-ten-years-I-am-still-not-over it sort of character. (I originally loved Tahiri, but that's what she's become.)
But while I am the only person here who loves Alema, I shall start my chant anyway: GO ALEMA!
...I actually forget most of the song. Haven't listened to it in awhile. I think it's, "If you're not into yoga"? Is that right?

I put my money on Tahiri.Think about it; she's been trained to fight by Tusken Raiders, she's been in more rough spots that have made her a great fighter, she's had her poor little heart hardened and torn more than Alema's,she's been training longer than Alema, and all she has to do is get a hold of Alema's sensitive lekku and she's in control.Alema would probably be more concerened about breaking a nail.

this is scary, but I agree with cassa...Tahiri has been much more hardened than Alema and if a fight training doesn't matter a whole lot. It is the agression of a person. Also the reason I find tahiri interesting, is because of her exciding capacity to cause bodily harm to others.

Of course, you also have to take into account that Alema is more ruthless (and more of a dirty player!) than Tahiri is. She would not hesitate to just stab Tahiri through the heart with a lightsaber. Tahiri is a firm supporter of the lightside, and therefore would try to fight a clean, fair one instead of cheating like Alema would be bound to.
(And as a side note: It would be rather dishonorable to just grab hold of a Twi'lek's lekku in a fight unless it was a last resort. Doing so is very crude and is considered to be 'playing dirty', as the Twi'lek's brain is in there. That would cause lasting brain damage, and Tahiri is not cruel enough to do that even to Alema.)

Cruel enough to do that to Alema?
Grabbing a Twi'lek's lekku is a very bad thing to do. Even in a fight. It can cause lasting brain damage and disable the Twi'lek. (I'm fairly sure Leia severed one of Alema's lekku, which was why when they were fighting, Leia won. Under other circumstances, Alema would've kicked her butt.)
But what I really want to know is why Tahiri would even be fighting Alema in the first place. She definitely disliked her, but the probability that they stayed enemies after the war is very unlikely. As a matter of fact, they probably became friends.

I'm not saying they would fight I mearly stated that I would hope that tahiri would realize as I do that there is no such thing as a low blow in a real fight. Alema as you said would fight low...well I would hope tahiri would fight lower. All is fair in love and war...well at least war. If I was in a fight with a twi'leck and trying to kill my opponent (which is the only time to really fight) I would grab a leku and I am hoping tahiri would have the sense to.

The Jedi believe in fighting honorably. Alema, as much as I love her...well, I'm not sure how on Earth she got to be a Jedi. Her morals are skewed beyond belief.
I definitely think that in a real fight, if Alema was a real threat (such as she was in the Dark Nest Crisis), it would be okay for Tahiri to grab her lekku.
But this isn't even about physical fighting. I'm just asking, in that list, who you prefer each one with. Really. You people really blow things out of proportion. XDDDD~

I made the comment about Alema being able to beat Tahiri up as a passing one, not to mention I struck it out to note that while it was my opinion, it was said as a joke and not to be the center of discussion.
But, did I get the song lyric right?

You also went into detail in it yourself. (Ah, and by the way, on the aggression of the person, Alema is definitely more aggressive than Tahiri is.)
But moving on from that topic. XD
I'm pretty sure the next line is, "and drinking champagne"? Gah, haven't heard that song in a long time!

Well, he could've gotten a worse name. There's a boy in my class named Reza. No one can pronounce his name.
