Yeah, okay. It's updatin' time! ******************
Luke walked into his living room. He noticed the blinking light on his message machine. The hairs on the back of his neck stood on end. The Force told him that something was wrong. Luke pressed the blinking button, and a frantic Leia appeared. Luke was reminded of the fist time he had seen Leia--in a message she had sent to Obi-Wan Kenobi. But this time, she seemed to be in need of more than Jedi assistance for the rebellion. "Luke, get down to Naboo right away! I don't know what's going on. Han's been...oh never mind. I need to tell you when you get here. Just hurry! Oh, and Luke, bring Artoo and Threepio. We may find their talents indispensable." Luke ran for a suitcase. ************************************ Four hours later, Luke and Chewie lifted off from Kashyyyk, where Luke had picked Chewie up. Chewie had been visiting his family there. Since he owe a life-debt to Han, he still stayed close by his side. But things had changed after Han and Leia were married, and Chewie had to learn to back off a little. Luke looked back towards the Jedi Academy, and wondered how Tionne would manage. He had briefed her...well...briefly, and when he left, she seemed greatly confused. Well, I guess she'll be alright. Aww, I'm worrying too much. Chewie woke Luke from his thoughts. *Hey Luke! Grab that hyperspace lever, will ya?* "Oh, right! Sorry, Chewie. I was just thinking about-" *The academy. Don't worry, Luke. Tionne can take care of those kids just fine! Besides, if you're worrying about the academy this whole time, how are we ever going to help Leia?* "You're right, Chewie." ************************************* Chewie pulled the ship out of hyperspace with expert skill. *Hey, Luke! Do you have those landing codes? Luke? Luke?* Chewie turned around to see Luke sitting down. If he hadn't known better, Chewie would have thought that Luke was unconcious. But he knew that Luke was just doing--as Han called them--one of those crazy Jedi things. Chewie waited for a moment. *Luke?* Luke's eyes opened. "Chewie, Leia was right. We needed to get here right away. The dark side of the Force radiates from this planet in a major way. I don't know why I didn't sense it from Yavin IV." Luke could almost hear what Yoda would have said had he been there. 'Because, clouds everything, the dark side does.'

Just for you...an update! **************
Jacen, Jaina, and Anakin sat on the hotel room bed, playing with their new souvenirs from the museum. Leia had decided to try and continue their vacation as planned, so as not to worry the kids too much. Hiding her worry from them had been difficult, but Leia had managed to hold a force shield around her mind all day. Now, she lay on the other bed, hoping her headache would go away. I wonder if Luke got my message yet. I should call him again. Why hasn't he called me? What's going on? Why isn't Han back? "Mama?" Leia sat up. "Yeah, Jaina?" "Why isn't Daddy back yet?" "I don't know, sweetheart. It's probably taking the police a while to sort out the misunderstanding." "Something's wrong, isn't it, Mommy." "What makes you say that, Jaina?" "Because your mind's been blank all day. And, a minute ago, you said, 'yeah.' Mama, you never say, 'yeah' unless something's up." Leia sighed. "I don't know what's wrong, Jaina. Maybe nothing's wrong at all." Maybe everything's wrong. Jaina opened her mouth to reply, but did not say anything, because there was a knock on the door. Leia started up to answer it, but there was no need. The door unlocked by itself and creaked open. Luke and Chewie walked in. "Uncle Luke!" Jacen exclaimed. Anakin looked up. "And Chewie!" Jaina spoke again to her mother, but this time, in her head through the Force. 'And you know something's wrong when Uncle Luke shows up.' *Hi, kids!* Chewie barked. "Luke, I told you not to do that anymore! You scared me half to death!" Leia scolded as she stood up to hug her brother. "Sorry Leia," Luke apologized. Then he saw the fear that still remained in her eyes. Too much fear. "Let's take a walk." ********************************
Han sat in his cell. He wasn't in a chair anymore, but instead he was on the cold, hard floor. His hands were bound, and so were his feet. Well, I guess I could hop outta' here. He was trying to cheer himself up. Blood was trickling down his face, coming from somewhere above his eyebrow. It ran into his eye, and that stung. He slowly brought his knees up to his face, wincing with every movement. He wiped the blood off onto his pants, but that didn't help his eye. They had beaten him. Tortured him. Mocked him. He knew what they were doing. Darth Vader had used the same tactics on Bespin. Yes, he was only bait for a trap. What trap, he couldn't tell. But he was bait. His family was Force sensitive. One of them was bound to sense his pain and come to his rescue. And then, whatever they were planning would take place. Other than that, all he knew was that they were "Imps." They were probably a small, hidden alliance leftover from the original Imperial group. They weren't going to kill him. He didn't know why. Surely his missing Force signature would have been more obvious to his family than his tortured one. That led him to believe that they didn't want him. If they killed him, their bait would be gone. Maybe they wanted Luke again. Or Leia. That thought made him shudder. He forced himself to change the subject. Han could only hope that Leia would figure all of this out before it was too late. He wished that he could talk to her using that Force thing. Luke had tried to teach him how to do it once, but he just didn't have enough midichlorians. He could hear what Luke was saying to him. Apparently you had to have substantial midichlorians to carry on a conversation, because Han just couldn't talk back, and Luke's voice in his head was extremely faint. How did his kids do it? Jacen and Jaina had learned how to levitate things when they were quite young. Han remembered a few years ago when they had teamed up to lift Threepio in the air. Threepio had been absolutely flabbergasted. Being lifted by Luke in the Ewok village had been enough for him. But by the twins? And upside-down, mind you! Han chuckled, but then cried out in pain. The gashes in his sides had been aggravated by his laughter. Augh! I've gotta keep my mind on something that won't make me laugh. Or leave me with terrifying thoughts. He could only wait now. Wait, and stay alive. There was nothing left to do.

"Leia, I didn't want to tell you this, but there are massive dark side presences radiating from this planet." Luke talked to his sister as they walked along the deserted sidewalk. Chewie and the kids had stayed in the hotel room. "I guess I sense that now. I can't believe I didn't before." "It's not your fault, Leia. But I've been thinking..." "Luke! You know people get hurt when you think!" Leia joked. "No, seriously, Leia. This isn't a time to be cracking jokes." "I know, Luke." Leia sighed, and her expression darkened. "I'm just so worried about Han. What's going on, Luke? What if we can't get him back? What if-" Leia's voice cracked again, and her eyes filled with tears. She buried her head in her brother's chest. "What would we do?" Leia's voice was blubbery and muffled. Luke held his sister tight. "Come on, Leia, we've done this before. Remember when Han was frozen in carbonite?" "Ick. Please don't remind me. Those were the worst days of my life." "But you got through it. And Han was just fine." "I know, Luke. But it's not just me anymore. I have Jacen, and Jaina, and Anakin. What would they do if Han didn't come back?" "Leia, Anakin and the twins are strong. They're Jedi. They can handle it. We got along without our parents. You got along after Alderaan." "I know. It's just still hard--" "I know it's hard, Leia. It'll always be hard. But you'll always get through it. You'll always be okay. And, I've been thinking. Maybe you should pick up your Jedi training again." "Luke, when would I ever find time? Between the kids, and work...I don't think I could..." "But maybe when Anakin and the twins go back to the academy, you can come, too." "Yeah, sure. Me taking classes with my kids." Leia brushed the idea aside. "You could do it, Leia. Besides, you'll need these skills. We need you, Leia. The New Republic could use a Jedi. Do you know how much faster you'd find out when things went wrong? You'd have the Force on your side." "Everything inside me tells me that you're right. I need the Force, Luke. I need to be able to count on it." Leia stopped, and smiled. "Teach me something." "Okay...well...see if you can..." Luke was about to say, "react to this," but instead he jumped up, sommersaulting in the air, his lightsaber already in his hand and ignited. Leia was quick to react, and by the time Luke's feet were on the ground, her lightsaber was ignited, and up to block his attack. The sizzling sound of clashing sabers filled the air. "Woah. I didn't actually expect you to react in time." Luke said, releasing the pressure on his lightsaber, and taking a step back. "And why not?" Leia placed her hands on her hips. "Well, because...I just didn't think you were that practiced and alert." "Luke, as a figure of public importance, I'm a big-time assassin target. And I have three kids. I have to be practiced and alert." Luke chuckled. "You're right. I've definitely underestimated you." He stopped and glanced at the sky. "We should get back to the room now. We need to start forming a plan of action if we are to rescue Han." Leia's nodded gravely. "Yes, let's go."

Do you? I had some trouble with this passage. I was going to have Luke give Leia her first lightsaber, but then I read "Dark Force Rising," and I realized that Leia had one before the twins were ever born! So it involved some major re-working.
