This song is called "Collapsed" by Aly & AJ
21 year old, Darth Vader, attempted to walk down the halls like he owned the universe, but inside his world was crumbling down. It had taken time for him to get used to his new robotic arms and legs, and breathing with the help of a machine. Every breath he took reminded him of the monster he had become. I destroyed the very one I was trying to protect. The one I loved... love. I still love her. Nothing my Master can say will ever change that. Darth Vader stood on his balcony, overlooking the building of the new Death Star. So young, he thought of himself. So young, and so hopeless. I will never learn.
That moment his master walked in. "Darth Vader," he said. "We have work to do."
"Yes, my master," the young handicapp answered slowly, breathing in hesitantly, trying to time his words with electronic breathing. The task wasn't easy.
"You will get used to your new lungs in time, my young apprentice," Palpatine comforted without sympathy. "Right now, you must come with me. I have something that I would like to show you."
I'd like to show you the end of my metal fist, scumbag. You killed my wife.
"Ah, no, Darth Vader, I did not kill her, you did."
Why did I let you go, you were too good to be true.
I messed it up and now I don't know what to do.
We ran in circles and wasted time, from right to wrong,
from right to wrong. If I'd known that you were mine,
and nothing could happen to end your time, I wouldn't
have wasted time. I wish I could erase the past.
But now it's all collapsed in my lap.
Darth Vader almost tripped over his own feet on his way down the stairs. Palpatine turned to him. "Stairs will build up your leg strength."
What leg strength? The things are robotic. Vader thought grimly. After the "special presentation", Vader was allowed to go back to his dwellings. He kept a small delicate pot of flowers freshly hand picked from Naboo to remind him of the happy times. The times that were long gone. A tear trickled down his scarred face and hit the inside of his metal mask with a spark.
I over thought
So I locked up my heart
There you stood, your brown eyes hidden beneath your hood.
Why did I let you go? You were too good to be true.
I messed it up and now I don't know what to do.
We ran in circles and wasted time, from right to wrong, from
right to wrong.
Anakin Skywalker made a descision right then and there. He really couldn't live without Padme. Anakin unfastened his helmet, respirator and the machine that kept him alive. He slowly walked over to his dresser, using the Force to help him breathe, one last time.
If I had known that you were mine,
I wouldn't have stressed over saving your life,
I wouldn't have wasted time.
I wish I could erase the past, cuz
now it has all collapsed in my lap.
Wish I could erase the past now,
Wish I could bring you back, now
that it's all collapsed in my lap.
Anakin's body attempted to take another breath, but he relaxed. Emperor Palpatine ran into the room, screaming. The Dark Lord had lost yet another apprentice. Anakin turned to face him with a defiant expression.
I'm going home to Padme ... where I belong.[/b] Then the Emperor's last apprentice died to his earthly body.
When he arrived to where everyone goes after their earthly life has been taken away, he was met with a pleasant surprise. His body was now repaired, all his arms and legs were back to their human form. Anakin could breathe in deeply. He cherished the feeling of a cool breeze against his smooth skin. The only thing missing was Padme. The empty space in his soul cried ou for her, another tear escaped his eye, and another.
"What took you so long?" A familiar voice said from behind him. Anakin whirled around to see his beautiful wife, smiling broadly. He cried out in joy and swung her around gleefully, repeating her name over and over.
"Padme... oh, Padme..." He gasped sorrowfully. "Could you ever forgive me? I know you couldn't... what am I saying." He set her down sadly. She cupped his cheek in her right hand.
"Ani, what are you saying? Of course I can forgive you. I love you..." She whispered back. Anakin smiled, his love for his wife evident in his fond gaze. "C'mere." She pulled him to her, and they shared a wonderous kiss. Full of passion and tenderness they could have never imagined. Anakin held Padme to him lovingly.
"I finally have you back."
She looked at him tenderly. "You're back where you belong."
